1. Who These Terms Apply To
The Terms govern the DoomFrequency service operated by Codex Dev. Key definitions:
- Service
- Hosted infrastructure at
doomfrequency.fmandws.doomfrequency.fm, including API, WebSocket relay, and AI-generated content. - Mod
- The DoomFrequency Project Zomboid mod (Apache 2.0 licensed, free and open source).
- Server Owner
- Entity operating a dedicated Project Zomboid server using the Mod.
- User
- Player connecting to a server running the Mod.
2. The Mod is Free — Always
The DoomFrequency Mod is released under the Apache License 2.0 and remains free forever. These Terms apply only to the hosted Service, not the mod itself. Server Owners may use their own infrastructure with the Python relayer at any time.
The Service's server-side implementation is closed source and proprietary — no source code rights are granted through use, subscription, or any other means.
3. Service Tiers
Available to all Server Owners at no cost, subject to monthly credit limits. Generic responses are returned after the limit is reached.
Paid monthly subscription via Stripe for higher credit allocation.
Paid monthly subscription including highest credits plus:
- Access to private development community
- Feature voting capability
- Prioritized feedback channel
Participation benefits are best-effort only and do not guarantee influence over development decisions.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Monthly billing occurs through Stripe. Recurring charges are authorized at the displayed rate. Stripe handles all payment processing; Codex Dev accesses only invoices and subscription status. Users must maintain accurate billing information.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time through account settings, effective at the end of the current billing period.
Under EU law, a 14-day withdrawal period applies. However, completing a subscription waives this right to enable immediate access to the Service. Outside this period, refunds are generally unavailable.
Exceptional cases may be reviewed by contacting [email protected] before initiating a payment dispute.
6. Data and Privacy
Minimal data is collected and is never sold. The Privacy Policy describes data collection practices, retention periods, and your rights under GDPR.
7. Acceptable Use
Server Owners are responsible for all content transmitted through their servers. The following uses are prohibited:
- Spam or unsolicited bulk messaging
- Harassment or targeted abuse
- Hate speech or discriminatory content
- Illegal content of any kind
- Credit system abuse or manipulation
- Attacks on infrastructure or denial-of-service attempts
- API misuse or unauthorized access
Violations result in suspension or termination with email notification. Server Owners have 7 days to contest a decision; Codex Dev will respond within 14 days. Accounts terminated following confirmed violations receive no refunds.
Intentional infrastructure damage may trigger immediate termination and legal action under Dutch and EU law.
8. User-Generated Content
The Service relays user messages without moderation. Codex Dev bears no responsibility for content transmitted through the Service. Server Owners are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and community standards.
Under the EU Digital Services Act, reports of illegal content sent to [email protected] will be reviewed and addressed in a timely manner.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties regarding uptime, availability, or content accuracy, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. Codex Dev is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost game progress or revenue.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. All disputes are submitted exclusively to the competent courts of the Netherlands.
11. Changes to These Terms
Codex Dev may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
